As an avid user of Allen’s trail system, I believe the current level of maintenance is already very good. Rather than significantly increasing maintenance efforts, I would prioritize connecting existing trail segments, improving access, and ensuring that new additions are maintained to the same strong standard as the current system.

One of the reasons my family doesn't use the trail system is because we have a disabled teenager. Taking family walks or bike rides is not part of our life, as much as we wish it could be. Keeping trails clear and safe should be a priority, but let's examine how that's done and how much is being spent to make sure that every single cent taken from a resident in the form of taxes is being spent on its highest & best use, not just a whishlist that some bureaucrats from City Hall think will win them PR awards.

Trail maintenance is key for the safety and enjoyment of our trails. The creation of our Trail Maintenance Team in 2026 is a big step forward. Trails clear of mud, brush, and tripping risks make the trails a joy. Trail side informational sign could include QR codes for downloading and using the MY ALLEN and WHAT3WORDS Apps to report trail conditions for follow up by the Maintenance Team.
