I've seen Allen police on their bikes riding far down long trails - this is really important!

What happens if you are mugged and your i-phone was stolen? We have to assume that there may be conditions where using a mobile phone is not possible.

When we call 911 to get help, our GPS location information is sent along with our call right to the Dispatchers screen. She / He can see where we are and can direct Police / EMS to our location likely within 10 to 20 feet. This is particularly important if we have been injured or don't feel safe walking down the trail to look for a location sign. The time spent looking, could have been used by the responders to get to your location. Be safe out there and don't hesitate to call 911. We have outstanding Police and EMS and helping citizens makes their day!

Plano utilizes simple signs with a location and three-digit hotline to call for safety. This is cheap and effective. Absolutely do not be tearing the trails and greenery up to install electronics and more expensive surveillance cameras. A simple sign is fast and easy to install along trails or parks, and utilizing a hotline is effective with immediate assistance.

put up blue boxes and call buttons. Do not install flock cameras or any other cameras to watch the trails. Use the apps and programs that are already in place. We don't need to find ways to spend more money.

Re Celebration Trail: Almost daily there are unleashed dogs and walkers are almost run over by motorized bikes and bicycles going fast. Definitely need patrols or cameras and marked bike lanes.

Is there any consideration to having some form of alert system for trail users who become hurt or injured and then need help? Possibly can be done by smart phones but what about an actual alert station where a physical alarm is possible, spaced out but not too many.

When we step off into our trailed natural areas we should not have to leave our First Responders behind us on the street. The ability to quickly summons EMS and Police to our trail location is literally in our hands. Our ubiquitous smartphones coupled with our latest e911 technology and dedicated Dispatchers can locate us within 10 feet in seconds. Trailhead signs should provide QR codes for the What3Words App, and remind users to call 911 for help, and load the MY ALLEN App to report unsafe conditions.
