Now that the draft of the 2045 Comprehensive Plan has been created, you'll be able to share your thoughts on the plan's more in-depth goals.

These goals were created using the comprehensive plan's five guiding principles and public feedback gathered through in-person meetings, events and online input opportunities. A presentation detailing the goals was given at the Nov. 14 public meeting. Watch a recording of the presentation at the link, then look at the cards below and share your thoughts on the goals.

Encourage attainable housing developments and redevelopments for residents in all stages of life. Strategically redevelop and diversify Allen’s housing stock in appropriate areas Subject area: Housing & Neighborhood Design Protect the quality and integrity of Allen’s neighborhoods. Ensure all neighborhoods are connected to Allen’s parks and trails system.

1 year ago Take a look at the Transportation & Mobility goals below, then share your thoughts on them!Subject area: Mobility Increase mobility options for all groups, including pedestrian, bicycle, vehicular, and distributions users. Update and support the Thoroughfare Plan to advance the mobility network in the City and region. Increase trails within the parks system to increase pedestrian connectivity within the City and improve regional access via alternate modes of transportation. Subject area: Infrastructure Improvement Develop transportation improvements to support anticipated growth areas and aging infrastructure. Continuously facilitate proper operations and maintenance of the transportation network to prioritize usability and experience. Focus Improvement efforts on existing infrastructure based on operational metrics and impacts on the surrounding neighborhoods.

Focus on major thoroughfares as important entries into the City and for the impression they leave on residents and visitors. Subject area: Community Aesthetics & Visual Qualities Promote the development and redevelopment of thriving commercial centers through strategic design guidelines. Foster a sense of place through elevated design standards, including landscaping, signage, and pedestrian improvement. Subject area: Green Spaces & Community Health Continue to prioritize open space as a key point of the City’s identity and focus on improving and expanding existing parks and trails. Utilize Allen Independent School District and Collin College strategic partners to recruit new residents and train a highly skilled workforce.
