Inspiring Inclusion: Parks & Recreation ADA Transition Plan

Allen Parks and Recreation is working to make the city's parks, trails and facilities more accessible and enjoyable for everyone, while also ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). With the help of a consulting firm which specializes in accessibility planning, the department is collecting data on current amenities and asking for public input to help set future priorities.

Public Meeting & Feedback Opportunities

March 31, 2026 5:00 AM - April 16, 2026 5:00 AM

Allen Parks & Recreation, with WT Group AEC, LLC Accessibility Practice, wants your feedback in order to refine the ADA Transition Plan. During this phase, residents will have the chance to give anonymous feedback in an online survey available March 31-April 15.

The primary goal of this survey is to gather community feedback on the accessibility of Allen’s parks, trails, and recreation facilities in order to identify priorities and guide improvements. Responses will help the City of Allen Parks and Recreation Department better understand accessibility needs and inform the continued ADA Transition Plan.

In addition to the online survey, two in-person informational and interactive events will be held on Tuesday, March 31 and Wednesday, April 1.
