Bo Zhao2 years ago Allen strong means clean environmentEarth looks fabulous. It appears like a beautiful marble when viewed from space. It is the only planet which can host life. It is important to take care of our planet.It is every resident’s responsibility to keep Allen beautiful by: 1. Do not litter2. Enjoy but do not waste natural resources such as energy, water, food, etc3. Re-duce, re-use, and recycle4. Stop using single-use plastic bags. Bring your own grocery bags5. Reduce the Styrofoam usage. Go alternative options such as paper which is biodegradable.

Edna Carroll2 years ago I am so proud living in the community of Allen. Thankful for this platform, having the opportunity to share our thoughts. Allen Strong to me means not being Helpless; building a strong community for everyone and by everyone including seniors living by themselves and disabled people in the community. There used to be a Collin County Ride Program which provides transportation services to and from destinations within Collin County. Recent major changes to the program not only limited the service hours but more importantly, limited the destination places they service which sadly, is not much of benefit to these members of our community. The program now only serves to/from Allen and Fairview. They can't even use the service anymore to take them to Plano for a doctor's appointment; nor to the DART Parker train station; nor to the mall in Frisco, if they sometimes, choose to venture out.I am hoping that this program could be revisited in order to make our senior and disabled members of our community be a part in making Allen Strong! Thank you!

Being "Allen Strong" means drawing strength from the people in our lives—family, friends, and community—all intertwined to form a robust support system that uplifts each individual.For me, being "Allen Strong" is about the connections we nurture and the bonds we build. It's found in the smiles of neighbors during morning walks, the cheers of parents at local sports games, and the hands extended in help during difficult times. It’s the feeling of being part of something greater, a community that stands together against all odds.I find my strength in the quiet moments with family and the joyful gatherings with friends, where laughter and love are abundant. It's in these moments that the true meaning of "Allen Strong" shines through—showing care, extending kindness, and always being there for one another.When facing challenges, I turn to these relationships and the comforting rhythms of daily life in Allen. Whether it's a shared cup of coffee with a friend or a reflective walk through Celebration Park, it's the community's spirit that recharges and inspires me.

Wendy McIntyre2 years ago Allen Strong Together means that the residence of Allen or groups associated with Allen are more powerful, effective, and successful when we all work together, listen to all opinions together and support each other for the betterment of the community as a whole. Emphasizes the idea that collaboration, unity and teamwork can lead to better outcomes and stronger bonds deeply rooted within the Allen community.I attended a Planning and Zoning Meeting the other evening - not knowing what was on the agenda. I was able to witness an entire neighborhood speak on behalf their neighbors, their families and their neighborhood community. They all were present to speak against and opposition to the development of a fast food restaurant being proposed within their neighborhood. At the end of the evening - the Developer ultimately withdrew the request. I cheered right along the people in opposition - because this was such a great example of Allen neighbors coming together, speaking their truth and ultimately protecting their interests.

Ken Fulk2 years ago "Allen Strong" is a Motto in regard to how our citizens pull together to work as a team to help each other when we are in need or when we face significant challenges. We are stronger together, always. When we have common goals, we are unstoppable! In these instances, our strength in numbers multiplies geometrically. Through unity, we have strength!Last year, during and after the mass shooting at the Allen Premium Outlet Mall, Allen came together like never before. The outpouring of support to first responders, to victims, families of victims and others impacted by this event, was beyond belief. If God is for us, who can be against us!

Vicki Sanders2 years ago While the term seemed to pop up after the tragic shooting at our Outlet Mall, it has a significant place in the planning and leadership of our community. The only way we can truly be "Allen Strong" is to ensure that we are including ALL of Allen; all of the lovely, wonderful, diverse citizens of Allen. One way of achieving this would be to increase the diversity of cultural and religious celebrations we acknowledge (no, I don't mean taking away the Christian-based celebrations like Christmas Parade and tree lighting.) It would be nice to see more diversity in our city's leadership, too, and to have it be more reflective of our community's population.
